Weaving is deeply inscribed in the Nagler family genes. High-quality fabrics have been designed and woven here in Pederoa La Valle since 1857. What has changed is the technology of the looms, the patterns and motifs, the range of textile services - but not our passion for the craft. Today, consultants, designers and weavers, seamstresses and interior decorators work here under one roof. Hand in hand.
Artists, craftsmen and inquisitive researchers. The Naglers in South Tyrolean Val Badia have always been experts in fabric production. Once upon a time, they travelled from farm to farm with their hand looms to process the wool and flax of the local farmers. Today, six generations later, the company headquarters in Pederoa La Valle is regarded as a centre of textile expertise. The craft and the passion have remained unchanged. Only the weaving technique has changed thanks to the modern jacquard looms. Over time, the range was expanded to include processing the fabrics into home textiles and upholstered furniture. And in a next step, the planning and realisation of textile room concepts were added. Since 2002 the company has been managed by Margareth Nagler and brothers Felix and Max Nagler. With the knowledge of the olden times, a wealth of experience and a view to the future.
Witnesses of time.
The historic hand looms of Nagler artistic weaving are still in working order after well over 150 years and can be experienced in action. The physical labour and experience that goes into the design and manufacture of fabrics is apparent. An interesting detail: The historic looms are considered the forerunners of the modern computer - because they also work on the basis of the binary system, in which the patterns and motifs are transferred to the loom via self-punched punched cards.
